hello~ went for hospital attachment with xin yi and gabriel this morning (: we were very excited except for the fact that we have to wake up early and (give each other morning calls hehe). Actually hospital attachment was quite fun and cool. we were attached to ward 37. the nurses there were nice ( just that they are abit annoyed and super busy in the morning as doctors would be making their rounds soon). The staff who was in charge of us was Anita( she was nice ). we were then splited up into three teams ( 1 per team cause there is only 3 of us -.-)
I was in team 1. The staff nurses and the trainee nurses were nice ( some of them were quite fun haha). I started by going around to say hello. The patients were friendly ( thankfully wahaha), and we some how got to know each other better and stuff. there was two chinese female patient whom i was closer to compared to the rest. They told me all sorts of things eg. holidays, dramas, their families, morals/ values etc. ( in short- life stories). but they would be discharged today, so i would not have the chance to see them tomorrow :X [ but on the bright side it is a good thing to be discharged isnt it? happy for them]. There was also this malay patient and her daughter; who helped me when i needed help :P. For today, i tried things that i never would or could have done. I fed the patients, took tpr, assisted the nurse and doctors when they made their rounds to remove tubes or to do check ups /assess the patients ( interesting, it was new experience :D ), and they tried their best to explain what they were doing and stuff. I also observed how the physiotheriapist and operating theriapist did their job ( they were super funny, and they kept bickering, haha), there was also a trainee, she was very nice and yupps made me feel erm more comfortable/ at home? in short she was like an older sis.haha xinyi and gabriel also had cool patients.
